Raiden is a character from the popular fighting video game series, Mortal Kombat. First appearing in the original 1992 game, he is the God of Thunder and protector of Earthrealm. Raiden has the power to control lightning and teleport, and is typically portrayed wearing a hat called a "kasa," which is reminiscent of the Buddhist deity Fujin.
